Ashley Hammond, R.Ph.
Ashley followed in her father’s and grandfather’s footsteps to become a 3rd generation pharmacist. She’s a 1995 graduate of the University of Louisiana @ Monroe and has worked in many unique and diverse pharmacy settings throughout her career.
After graduating, Ashley relocated to Daphne, Alabama to accept a pharmacist position at a local retail pharmacy. Realizing that her true interest lied in formulating drugs to fit the needs of individual patients she underwent extensive training in the area of compounding; and in 2004 opened Compound Care Pharmacy.
Because all Compounding Pharmacies do not adhere to the same quality and safety standards, Ashley made the commitment upon opening the pharmacy, that CCP would only formulate medications based on the highest of quality standards in the industry. It became imperative to Ashley that Compound Care earn PCAB accreditation to demonstrate the pharmacies focus on quality assurance. In March of 2008, she achieved this goal, which further demonstrates her commitment to excellence. PCAB accreditation is a voluntary process and CCP is one of only a few pharmacies in the United States to earn the prestigious seal. To view our pharmacy’s Accreditation Report and/or view a list of PCAB accredited pharmacies, visit www.pcab.org.
Ashley is directly involved in all aspects of pharmacy operations. In order to ensure that all preparations are of the highest quality, Ashley personally sees to it that CCP’s facility only uses the latest in precision equipment; uses pharmaceutical-grade (USP) chemicals in all compounds, routinely sends product off-site to undergo batch-testing to ensure potency and accurate “beyond-use dating”; regularly reviews and enforces that the company’s extensive standard operating procedures are adhered to; and ensures that all support staff are highly qualified and receive the latest on-going training and certifications in compounding techniques. Not only does Ashley expect the highest of standards from her employees, she also demands the same of herself. She continues to expand her qualifications by voluntarily obtaining new compounding certifications annually.
Ashley is a member of the following organizations: American College of Apothecaries, National Association of Compounding Pharmacies, International Association of Compounding Pharmacies, Alabama Pharmacy Association.
In addition to her rewarding career as a compounding pharmacist and business owner, Ashley is actively involved in the community and has served on the Board of Directors of Supporting Educational Enrichment in Daphne’s Schools (SEEDS) (www.seedsindaphne.org) for the past 5 years. She was voted in as president of the organization in September of 2008. SEEDS is an independent, non-profit education foundation that brings together citizens of all ages who value learning and share a vision for education’s role in Daphne’s future. They provide enrichment opportunities at school and in the community and advocate for educational improvements and innovation.
Ashley has been married for fourteen years and has 4 children. She currently resides in Daphne, Alabama.
